About the ITSC Conference

The Innovative Technology in Schools Conference, ITSC, is a unique professional development opportunity for educators from around the Asia-Pacific region. As connected learning and teaching is the focus of educators world-wide, ITSC '07 provides a forum to gain fresh ideas for the classroom and foster communities around the region.

The conference will be held at the University of Technology Sydney from December 11 to December 13. Sessions will be run by both teacher practitioners and university colleagues.

Keynote speakers include:

Marco Torres
Marco Torres has spent his years as a high school teacher, media coach and education technology director for San Fernando High School, one of the U.S.'s largest urban schools in Los Angeles.

Mike Anderson
Mike is Principal of North Loburn School, Canterbury. He focuses on combining thinking tools and higher order thinking with the use of multimedia authoring software and digital video to empower students to explore and present their learning.

Stephanie Hamilton
Before joining Apple In 2000, Stephanie spent many years as a high school teacher of English, history and mathematics. After leaving the classroom, she spent the next 12 years in a district technology leadership position as the director of instructional technology for a district of 38,000 students and as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a district of 78,000 students in Austin, Texas.

About the Scholarships

The AUC is offering up to seven scholarships for the 3-day programme for educators and runs from Tuesday to Thursday 11-13 December 2007. This stream will be highly relevant to university Education faculty staff. The scholarship covers registration and accommodation costs up to $700, and will be awarded on a nationally completive basis. Scholarship recipients will need to cover their own travel costs to Sydney.

Who Should Apply?

The scholarship is for the 3-day programme for educators. Applicants should be employed in a full-time capacity at an AUC member University, and may be academic staff who work in an education faculty, or IT support staff who support academic staff who work in this area.

Application Process

To apply for an ITSC Scholarship complete the on-line application form by Monday 19 November (5.00pm AEST). Scholarship recipients will be notified by 26 November, 2007.
