AUC Subsidies

The AUC is offering each member University five (5) subsidised places to send staff and students to the Leopard Tech Talk in Sydney on the 22 & 23 February 2007. The subsidy consists of financial assistance in covering return economy airfares and accommodation in Sydney.

Subsidy Allocation

The local AUC Representative on each campus will assign the five subsidised positions. Please contact them for more details. Do not register for the Leopard Tech Talk or book flights or accomodation until you have been formally advised you have been awarded a subsidy.

Airfare Subsidy

For those AUC Subsidised delegates the AUC is offering to cover return economy airfares up to a maximum amount as detailed below. We encourage you to use discount airfares to keep your airfare under the maximum airfare claimable.

Departure Point (Maximum Airfare Claimable)

  • Western Australia (PER) $640.00
  • South Australia (ADL) $470.00
  • Victoria (MEL) $350.00
  • Tasmania (HOB & LCN) $430.00
  • Queensland (BNE) $350.00
  • Queensland Far North (TSV/ROK/CNS) $450.00
  • New South Wales (BHS/ARM/WGA/LSY) $350.00
  • ACT (CNB) $350.00
  • Northern Territory (DAR) $600.00

Accommodation Subsidy

The AUC is offering to subsidise accommodation costs for all subsidised delegates (including Sydney Metro attendees) as follows:

Departure Point (Maximum Accommodation Claimable)

  • Western Australia (PER), South Australia (ADL), Northern Territory (DAR) and Far North Queensland (TSV/ROK/CNS) $450.00
  • All others $300.00

The above rates are based on $150 per night for those delegates that require two nights accommodation and three nights accommodation for WA, SA, NT and FNQ delegates who due to flight schedules would be unable to fly in the morning the conference starts. The subsidy only covers room and taxes, it does not cover any extras such as room service, internet access, in-room movies, mini-bar, etc. We encourage you to twin-share if you wish to keep your accommodation under the subsidy amount.

Claims for the above travel and accommodation subsidises must be sent within 3 months of the Leopard Tech Talk to the AUC, the last date for claims is 23 May 2007. Claims will not be accepted until after the conference to confirm attendance. Claim amounts above are inclusive of GST.
