The Apple University Consortium is pleased to announce it is offering up to 8 competitive scholarships to the Annual SAGE-AU 2008 conference to be held August 11 - 15 at the Holiday Inn in Adelaide, South Australia.
The annual conference allows individuals to explore emerging technologies and issues confronting managers of computer systems and deployments in any organisational setting. In addition to this the Annual Conference provides invaluable time to establish networks with other parties and organisations whilst enhancing attendees skills and professional attributes through a number of programs in the area of network/system administration.
The conference tutorial program features a number of technical workshops in areas such as Security, System Administration Practice, 802.11 WLAN's and dTrace, whilst also providing a professional stream of workshops discussing and examining the issues faced by administrators. SAGE-AU 2008 will also feature a formal
conference program , conference dinner and number of other events aimed at enhancing the technical and professional qualities of administrators
The AUC will allocate scholarships to the SAGE-AU 2008 conference on a national competitive basis.
Who should attend?
SAGE-AU 2008 is aimed specifically at technical staff who manage or administer computer installations in either a support role, lab manager role or network/system administration role.
The AUC scholarship to attend the SAGE-AU 2008 conference is specifically aimed to staff who currently work in similar roles in Mac OS X deployments or heterogeneous computing environments (composed of some Mac's).
AUC Scholarship
The AUC will be offering a subsidy up to 8 attendees selected on a national competitive basis to attend SAGE-AU 2008's tutorial and conference program. This subsidy will cover:
- 50% of a return economy airfare to Adelaide
- accommodation subsidy for five nights of up to $150 per night (room + taxes only)
- conference and tutorial registration fee's (tutorial rego is for a maximum of 4 units - additional units can be purchased at your own cost).
In addition to this recipients will be made members of SAGE-AU for a period of 1 year.
Accommodation & Travel
Delegates will need to organise their own flights and accommodation to attend the event. These are refundable after the conference using the AUC's claim procedures in accordance with the scholarships inclusions enumerated below.
The AUC nor Apple Computer can assist with organising flights or accommodation.

Conference Inclusions
The Scholarship covers: SAGE-AU 2008 Conference registration; 4 conference tutorial units, 1 year membership to SAGE-AU and morning, lunch and afternoon tea for each day of the conference.
Attendee's will also get a copy of the conference proceedings and will also be entitled to attend the conference trivia night on the 13 August and the conference dinner on the 14 August.

Application Process
To apply for a scholarship for SAGE-AU 2008 simply complete and submit the application form by the 21 July 2008. Recipients of the Scholarship will be notified by 28 July 2008.
