WWDC Travel & Accommodation
Each delegate needs to arrange his or her own travel and accommodation through either a local travel agent or their approved University travel office. The AUC cannot assist in organising flights and accommodation other then to provide information and advice.
Travel
Six major airlines fly from Australia/New Zealand to the west coast of North America. These are Air New Zealand, Qantas, United Airlines, V Australia, Air Canada and Delta. Some flights are direct (e.g. United have direct Sydney to San Francisco flights) while others go via other major cities (Los Angeles, Toronto, Auckland, etc) with connecting flights to San Francisco.
When making your booking ensure that you arrive on or before the Sunday and leave after the Friday of the week of WWDC. See the FAQ for suggested travel times.

For those that require domestic flights to connect with International flights we encourage you to use VirginBlue or JetStar where available and convenient. Qantas can also offer cheaper domestic airfares if part of an overall package flight to the USA so try them as well.

Accommodation
The AUC has arranged a special accommodation rate with the San Francisco Downtown Courtyard Marriott in San Francisco of USD$179 (+taxes) per room per night. Please book by 16 May 2011 to secure this special offer.
The group code and links for single and double rooms will be posted to the WWDC 2011 mailing list.
The AUC expects WWDC scholarship recipients to get to know each other and build collaborative relationships that will continue upon return to Australia, and in 2011 is fostering this through a group booking at the Downtown Courtyard Marriott in San Francisco.
In order to receive the full value of the scholarship subsidy, attendees must stay at the Downtown Courtyard Marriott on the AUC's group rate. Scholarship recipients are free to choose other hotels, but should they do so the subsidy will be reduced by $400.
The hotel is 2 blocks from the Moscone Centre, has free broadband in each room and the hotel lobby, modern clean facilities and is located in the heart of downtown San Francisco's South of Market (SOMA) business district and just minutes away from Moscone Center, Moscone West, SBC Park (home of the SF Giants), Union Square, The Metreon Entertainment Complex, Yerba Buena Gardens and the SF Museum of Modern Art.
It is important that when booking accommodation you have a confirmed booking otherwise you may find you don't have a room to stay in when you get there. A valid credit card is required to confirm all online reservation requests
For those that want to share accommodation at the Courtyard Marriott and would like assistance in finding someone to share with, the WWDC 2011 mailing list is a good place to start. You will be automatically subscribed to this group when you are confirmed as attending WWDC.
