Activities
As part of the Conference, two optional
lunch sessions will operate on Tuesday 27 September.
Please indicate your attendance when registering as spaces are limited.
- Developer Lunch hosted by Tess Collins, from Apple Computer Australia
This lunch will be hosted by Apple's World Wide Developer Relations and will
be an open discussion on development on Mac OS X. If you are developing
applications, widgets or any solutions for Mac OS X this lunch will be a
great opportunity for you to share with others as well as give feedback
direct to Apple. Developer Food will be served! (Mountains of Hot Pizza and
Soft Drinks)
- Round Table Discussion hosted by Roly Sussex from the University of Queensland -
Please register for these as numbers are limited.
Grab a boxed lunch and head to the main plenary room for an entertaining and
thought provoking 'AppleThetical' with invited participants and special
guests. Roly Sussex is the Professor of Applied Language Studies at the
University of Queensland with an interest in the Internet and intellectual
cultures and intelligent learning systems.
Student Dinner
A Student Dinner will be held on Monday 26 September at Wrest Point. If you are registering as a Student, this is included. Please indicate your attendance when registering.
Amendment and Cancellation fees - ID Meetings & Events
No penalty will apply to amendments or cancellations prior to Friday 17 June 2005.
On or after Friday 17 June 2005: Amendment Fee: $25.00 per amendment per person Cancellation Fee: 25% of the total cost
On or after Friday 22 July 2005: Amendment Fee: $50.00 per amendment per person Cancellation Fee: 50% of the total cost
On or after Friday 26 August 2005: Amendment Fee: $100.00 per amendment per person Cancellation Fee: 100% of the total cost
Total cost includes: Registration Fee, Workshop Fee (where applicable) and accommodation costs. The above amendment and cancellation fees are in addition to fees which may be levied by hotels, airlines or local operators.
Credit Card Administration Fee
Credit card payments incur a 3.5% administration fee for
the total costs charged to any credit card
used to pay for Conference costs. Cards accepted include American Express,
Mastercard and Visa Card. Diners Club cards are not accepted. Please
note that the 3.5% fee will be added to your total cost of arrangements
and will be shown on your tax invoice.
Please note that the provider name "ID Tours" will appear on your credit card statement.
Conference Blog
The AUC will invite all delegates to participate in a conference blog (web
log) where they can share their views and thoughts on the presentations,
papers and other features of the conference. By sharing experiences we hope
that delegates will enjoy a richer aspect to the conference and that it
provokes some debate during the conference and social events.

Bookings are at your own arrangement and can be made online or via the Tasmanian Travel Centre. Please ensure you have your travel plans confirmed prior to registering for the Conference at the online registration site, to allow you to advise ID Meetings & Events what date you wish to fly from or to your home port (if you are not travelling on the nominated group flights). All arrangements are subject to availability and your earliest choice of dates will ensure your first preference of flight options.

ID Meetings & Events welcomes the opportunity to provide
a travel service to their clients. However, persons who take advantage
of this service do so with the knowledge that ID Meetings & Events acts
only as an intermediary, whose function is to make reservations with
companies or firms offering facilities for accommodation, coach or air
travel associated with the travel industry. ID Meetings & Events, whilst
acting in good faith, does not accept any responsibility for default
causing loss or injury to person or property whether by negligence or
otherwise on the part of any company, firm or their employees or any
individual providing any facilities for any person taking advantage
of the travel service. Further, ID Meetings & Events
is not liable for any loss suffered by any
person or any additional expenses caused or occasioned by delays, change
of aircraft services, acts of war, acts of terrorism, alterations to
any other travel services, illness, injuries, strikes, civil disturbances
of whatsoever nature interfering with, altering or adding the cost of
the service or accommodation requested or booked.
Privacy
Australia introduced the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 in 2001. ID Meetings & Events complies with such legislation which is designed to protect the right of the individual to privacy of their information. Information collected in respect of proposed participation in any aspect of the AUC Academic & Developers Conference will be used only for the purposes of planning and conduct of the Conference and may also be provided to Apple Computer Australia.
